Everyone’s Music School was founded in June 2018 by Thomas Pedersen in Santa Cruz California. When Thomas Pedersen first opened Everyone’s Music School it was called “Thomas Pedersen Music Lessons” . Before he opened the school in Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz he did in home lessons while working 2 jobs and going to school for music and psychology. When Thomas Pedersen Music Lessons started to take over he quit all his other jobs and dropped out of college to focus 100% on bringing music to everyone.

Thomas’s method of teaching was primarily driven by his work as a counselor in mental health and using similar counseling methods in his teaching.

Thomas realized that while in school studying music that music had so much diversity which influenced the ideology of Everyones Music School. He realized that music can be learned and enjoyed by ANYONE no matter their personality or background. At the same time Thomas was counseling people with Schizoaffective disorders which allowed him to see that

Anyone can learn music if they have a passionate and creative teacher.

This thought process was the seed for the Compassionate and Progressive Music Instruction Method (CPMI) .
